I assume that is it a broccoli/cauli cross? I got it in my CSA box.
Just wondering how to prepare it.....just steam and slather in butter?

It's Romanesco Broccoli, just treat it like regular broccoli :)

Yes, Dace, I believe that is what it is. I can't remember what it is called. :P

My favorite way to have broccoli is slathered in hollandaise (sp?) sauce.

It's a fancy cauliflower variety, Romanesco type; there are also orange and purple fancy cauliflowers.

Prepare and eat it like cauliflower.

OK, I just read on wikipedia that:
Romanesco broccoli has a milder flavor, more creamy and nutty, and less bitter, than conventional broccolli and cauliflower.

Actually, You are both equally correct. It is called both Broccoli, and Cauliflower. It is technically a cauliflower, according to that Wikipedia article, but more commonly called Broccoli in the seed catalogs.

Nutritionally, closest to cabbage in compliment.

Probably delicious under cheese sauce... :)

Iz Nom! Pass the butter! Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom...
