I pulled a pkg of chicken out of the freezer. Didn't notice it was drumsticks instead of thighs. DH likes 'em - I'm not so excited. Oh well... I'll figure out something to make them more enticing to me, lol.

burn them on the grill a little, that works for me anytime. :) sprinkle beer on them and that brings back memories of Dad's grilling technique which was basically the same no matter what he made. pile in the charcoal, spray it with starter fluid, come back in a bit and spread the coals out and then proceed to burn everything while standing there drinking beer and pouring that on whatever fires that started. bbq sauce sometimes did happen, not always. for hungry kids we didn't complain at all and i still wouldn't. chicken on the grill is about my favorite way to have it... but it has to have the bone in and skin on so it can have some chance of flavor...

Its my "don't buy" for any groc item....just make or don't have season.
I like that and I practice it often. Unfortunately, practice does not make perfect, lol. I usually say we won't buy any groceries for (insert time frame here).

But, I always add the caveat "unless we really need it." LOL

Why'd you have to say that? Now I want some. Not gonna have any - but I still want some.

We had leftover chicken cacciatore, cauliflower rice and some steamed asparagus.

that sounds good too! i said it because it was the truth. we don't have it that often but always enjoy it when we do. we've decided to do the roast tomorrow instead of Thursday so we'll have it for leftovers too on Thursday. not that we're short on food here. oofduh! :)
