Costco has become one of our occasional eat out places because of price. $2 for piece of pizza $.59 drink. Big pieces so even hubby is good with one. I checked their nutrition chart and we can work it in his sodium limit. Its less than other pizzas.

Just me, I can get a rotisserie chicken and have 4 meals for me with dog sharing for $5

Yep bring water to boil lower eggs in cook for 12 mins scoop out with slotted spoon into a bowl of ice water. Every egg will peel every time. My kids traded with their cousins dyeing Easter eggs this year and we told the family we will boil all the eggs next year. What a pain.

Dinner was left over roast beef warmed in butter in skillet added cooked onions and mushrooms. Then a few slices of farmers cheese melted in.

We had lunch out while doing doc appts. and other various errands. The bad part is that lunch isn't cheap anymore...the good part is that I won't be cooking dinner!

our big box club store doesn't take cash at the counter any longer. we won't be eating there any more. :(

the other day Mom made some caramel and some chocolate ganache and then used both of those on top of some short-bread cookies. pretty good like that, but today i have some apple slices in the fridge that are getting old and need to be eaten up so i took some of those and rinsed and scraped off the squishy parts and ate those along with the cookies. i like apple pie, but this combination is even better...

The cookies & apples sound good. 👍 I have one pint of cajeta left from last yr. Will make more in a couple weeks. I'm weaning kids & will milk the does for a while. Milk, cheese & cajeta 😄

I cooked bacon, saved the majority of renderings, added chopped cabbage to pan plus chopped onion. While that cooked I peeled a huge baking potato, cut into 1/2" chunks, tossed in pan. Seasoned, stirred, cooked up....ate! Plenty left for tomorrow.

Yes, I water bath. Also, I've learned not to cook too long, leave a little loose before jarring. The extra few min in WB adds cook time PLUS just before end of cook down, I add some unsalted butter. It smooths the blend nicely & helps prevent grainy, IMO. I've work thru a couple batches to help get the results I prefer. Great use for extra milk. Also, the cream ratio figures into cook time & butter needed. All I can say is this is still good eating for any "duds" spoon in hand.
