If you were next door I'd share pot pie!! :hugs 😁
If I were next door I'd love it!

Not terribly hungry - could use sleep more than food right now. Decided that if I do eat anything later it will likely be a sweet potato. DH is fixing himself a snack plate - likely kippers or smoked oysters with some crackers, cheese, olives and pickled okra (or something similar). He loves those kinds of meals.

I'm feeling poor lately. SS isn't covering our purchases, which are out of control.

I used to do alot of Mystery Shopping back in 2018, 10 and early 20. It made ends meet for me, since I was delaying my SS until age 67.

I did two Panda express shops today, and the two meals I ordered (and get reimbursed for) are for dinner. Kroger shops tomorrow.

we have a small tradition now of having a snack when Mom gets home from her caretaking before she grabs a shower. most often crackers and cheese cubes and i get a few bites of those with some hot sauce because much of the rest of the time i'm not doing too much with spices these days.

then i decided it was a day to have a bit more of a snack with some butter pecan ice cream, extra cashews and some chocolate sauce.

it was a long busy day for me and i'm irked about someone not returning my phone call (not anyone i have to deal with often but it still would be nice if they'd call back so i can get that off my TTD list).

yes, it doesn't take much of an excuse for me to have dessert first... :)

and then knowing that Mom has had a long day too we both agreed that a nap is quite ok even if it means we'll likely both stay up later tonight. tomorrow is a day of nice enough weather we won't be worried about it and can enjoy whatever we might get up to. :)

in the meantime now that i'm awake we have some other more serious eats ready to go if i want some later or perhaps i'll just wait until i get up tomorrow. i am glad to have such choices and feel spoiled once in a while and i think that is quite ok considering how busy things can get at other times of the seasons... contentment is a good thing...

Yesterday I used the last of a turkey breast up. Clear from frig. Made turkey & dumplings 😁. Fed DD & DS....so, much of it was eaten. Now I only have 2 meals of it to consume. This morn, the carcass was in a pot to make broth & scraps for the 9 feral cats that live here. Merry Christmas to them 👍

we made some baked beans last week and today i got the last of those finished off for breakfast. cold.

Mom always makes a comment about me eating foods cold but it's not really been a problem for me as far as i can tell. sometimes i will go as far as microwaving them a few seconds to take some of the chill off, but i don't normally bother to get them hot.

even during cold weather.

the breakfast meal the other day was oatmeal and when it was cooked i addded some peanut butter and peanuts. the added chew and texture was what i was after. i've not been eating that much oatmeal the past some months but we have this large container to use up as they are getting old so i should be working my way through them and it being colder weather it does make it at least slightly more appealing to me.

dinner tonight is likely to be something light as i've had my meat and some fruit (a few small tangerines). a cookie and some blueberries sounds acceptable. :)
