Wanted a chicken salad sandwich. No bread. Had some tortillas. Opened a jar of canned chicken, slathered some mayo, fresh onion, relish, and crumbled some chicken on top. Folded up & it was even better than on bread! Yeah, a do over for sure.

I'm proud that I've been using from the canning!! Had 9 jars in DW yesterday. Good girl.

from the freezer. mashed potatoes, stuffing, chuck roast, mushrooms/mushroom gravy.

we're trying to get the freezer mostly empty so it can be cleaned, it's not been this empty in a long time. kinda weird lookin'.

With the wife out of commission, I have been managing the food. I have been quietly using up stuff and not fully restocking. Making progress on creating empty spaces.

A chunk of pork loin, braised, now roasting with onions, apples & sweet potatoes. Several meals there.

Prep for the week....heavy job work. Also, couple meals of chicken/rice/peas, to heat up. Sandwich fixens for lunches is next up.

I finally cracked last night. Picked up take out from Mission BBQ, should last us for a few meals

i'll be cooking up a few gallons of beans this afternoon so they can be turned into baked beans later. probably will have some of those for dinner.
