No clue but a few more are starting to Spike. Darnest thing I've ever seen... I guess I got some designer chickens.

Water. They will dunk their heads or rub against dew covered plants. Mud also for some of them.

Oh and the muddy one billed the water put of the drinking cup to make that mud. She didn't even get a foot feather dirty.
