Several years ago we were gutting and re-wiring the bathroom, so (since I work very slow sometimes) we were without a bathroom light for about a week. Not a problem during the day, but not good at night. My GEEK son rigged me up a interim bathroom light using a 9 volt battery, a resistor and a LED light bulb. It was amazing! Actually lit up the entire bathroom at least as well as the average night light and took so little juice the battery lasted for about 3 weeks. Of course it was disconnected when not in use. I would probably look for something LED that worked on batteries for an emergency light. This time of the year those LED Christmas lights will be on sale!

I agree - most of the outdoor lights I have seen are not very bright nor do the batteries stay charged very long.

Well, I have 12 of them around the edges of my roses in the back yard. I read on this site some time ago that they can be used as emergency lighting when the power goes out. So, I tested that and brought them all in the house one night. When bunched together, you couldn't read by them, but there was enough light that the kids wouldn't be scared, which really is the main thing in the end.

hey LDY

you experimented....cool

yes as a bunch. I never really thought about the total light output of them. for some reason I was thinking they were pretty bright because when driving at night I see everyone's walkways lit up and it "seems" bright..LOL

and yes any light when needed keeps you from trippng etc. just to get around the home!

Hey WZ
I looked at your link.

didn't say how long you crank for X amt. of time of power?

when you crank, how long do you get light?

just wondering.
