There will probably be a great deal more going on that kefir alone is able to deal with, but it is an excellent start.

You can buy kefir in teh store, but usually it is highly processed, and it often contains a great deal of sugar.
On top of that it only contains 7 active strains of kefir, whereas if its made with kefir grains at home with raw milk, it will contain around 30 probiotic strains.
