Your Weather

Our weather has been a real mix. Christmas Eve morning we were surrounded by a "global" sheet of ice! By that night, we had rain and temps in the mid 40s, which melted all the ice. Christmas Day we got snow! But this morning, most of the snow is gone. We are in the upper 30s and getting rain. We were supposed to get to 45 today, but that never happened.

Can you believe our forecast calls for 62 tomorrow?! :th

In typical Mississippi fashion, all winterizing had to be undone because we went from 28 last week to 68 this week. I do get tired of having to put up plywood to keep the cold north wind off the rabbits and plastic to keep the rain out then running back and undoing all that so they can get fresh air. Heat for chickens one day and lordy don't forget to turn that heat off because even though its 22 degrees this morning its going to be 65 by noon.
Today was short sleeves and shorts, but by Sunday I will need a coat. Oh and tomorrow its suppose to be up to 80. No wonder I am always sick.

We finally got over freezing today, just for a few hours but it was nice.
I kept filling the ducks water/pond tub thingie (just big enough for one at a time bathing) they were loving it, kept coming back to hop in again.
I removed their bathing water a week ago after I found one duck almost frozen (had to bring him in and bath him in the house and dry him off)

I feel bad taking their bathing water, but I don't want frozen ducks.

Monday we are supposed to be getting up to 40, I can not WAIT.

Now that could be one of those strange farm discussions when overheard by non-farm people- "I have to get home now to vaseline Henry's comb."
LOL I know right. I was in Lowes today and you should have seen the looks I was getting while I was talking about the pop door and the chickens' nestboxes. I guess it didn't help that I was wearing my muck boots and trackie bums.

LOL Lupin
you shoulld see my looks when I work the hogs and then make a fast run to my grocery store for something. I literally have to keep distance between me and others. P.U. I got looks about the stink but hey, that is farm life..LOL

Today? Suuuuunnnnnnnnnshine and warm! Heading out to the coop to make some few remodeling changes, neaten up some scrap lumber piles and plan for some new livestock.

We are supposed to be in the 60's here today after just being in the 20's!! So, DH is taking advantage and getting some wood cut today!

Yesterday it finally made it over 0 a balmy 19F. Snowed last night and now it's -5F. I love winter anyway.
