:lol: It is fine. You'll be flavoring it with garlic and onions and herbs, and it will be delicious!

When I am going to use the meat, I take it out after a few hours and strip the usable meat off and return the bones and scraps to the pot.

Beef bones and the leg bones of pastured poultry generally won't completely disintegrate. I just crush what is crushable to feed to the hens and toss the rest.

One thing you can do to help the smell, is to sprinkle a little Italian seasoning in it from time to time.
Also, making sure the bones are roasted before hand brings the smell down a fair amount.

I'm pretty sure bone broth is used to flavor McDonnald's french fries. There was a small scandal about that many years ago. Apparently some folks thought it was an illegal or unethical enticement to purchase their fries. Or something like that. Does anyone remember that?
