Aww major bummer! I hope you get everyone taken care of!

What age do you stop the toltrazuril? My dude had it before he left the breeder at 9 weeks, should I be thinking about doing it again?

I would think it would depend on your conditions. We've been extremely wet, humid and hot for a couple weeks now. These kids that were exhibiting symptoms today are at least 14 weeks old and were last treated at 9 weeks.

Good to know. We've also had a TON of rain. I'll keep an eye on him. Never had coccidia here, hope to continue to be able to say that!

How are your milkers doing? Are you drowning in milk?

I had to cut back on milking all those does, lol. We couldn't use it up even giving it to the pigs, the dogs, making cheese, and making yogurt. I was wearing myself out creating so many milk products, lol! I'm milking two now and just once a day and still get over a gallon of milk daily. I refuse to even bring more than a gallon into the house, lol. I milk until my gallon jug is full then milk out the last doe into a bucket which gets dumped in a feed pan in the barnyard. I don't even know/care who gets it - it's just gone by the next day!

But, I haven't weaned the babies from the other does either. Kinda keeping my options open. Because they're still nursing their babies I could still put them back into the milking string if needed.

Decided to start rendering some of the fat from the pig. Freezer is full enough and I'm trying to get some more milk in there so needed to make room.

DS is coming to get the tractor - which means he will have to fix the ignition issue before he can take it. I love how that works!

My son is awesome.... took two hours in the heat - but he fixed that tractor! We've had trouble more times than I want to count with the switch and the safety features that would beep when they wanted to and kept it from starting randomly. No more problems from now on hopefully - he rewired it and bypassed all of that!

He also 'dared' me to drive it up on the trailer. He doesn't use ramps or anything - just drives it up on the trailer which causes the back end of the trailer to come down, the front to go up along with the rear end of his truck and it just looks scary as heck. But - I did it! I wanted to quit half way through....and announced it loudly to the world...but there was no way to stop half way up so I kept going. My heart is still racing, lol.

Fat is still rendering and I got a couple good cracklings that I snuck out for myself, lol. There wasn't enough to share. :hu

I only left my bacon to soak in the fridge for 2 or 3 days. It was almost too salty, so glad I didn't leave it any longer. I used 2 pounds brown sugar to less than one pound salt.

I was planning on dosing them next weekend, which would have been a six week gap, and then tossing the keepers out to the pasture. Guess those plans have changed! Gonna have to rethink this - or at least hope for a drought...

I have the rest of the fat rendering. Yay for more cracklings, lol. Oh and yay for the lard too. When I get it all done I'll can it. Might leave that job for Tuesday.

Started bottling some of the last batch of homemade wine. Some of it's still working so I'll keep watching it and bottle when appropriate. But, I did some last night and another bottle today. Tasted it and it's mighty strong and mighty sweet! Wow! Hopefully after being bottled for a couple months it'll mellow out some. If not - I'll call it dessert wine and drink it anyway, lol!

Gave Dusty (Nubian Buck) an injection of Ivo +. Every year during the rut he loses some hair. I've always thought it was from the bucks all rubbing on each other - but none of them lose hair so he got a shot today. Hopefully it will make a difference.

Just have to post this pic because this is the most uniquely colored goat I've ever owned! I don't even know what to call her except a dirty blonde! All the dark spots are darker hair- not dirt. I need to come up with a unique name to go with her unique color.
