Our place is completely fenced and enclosed. Our male Great Pyrenees is generally in the yard and gallops up to the gate. Only friends that he knows come in the gate. Getting out of the car/truck to open/close the gate gets to be a pain, but it is worth it. We had one "bad" person one road over from us, but he is in jail now.

I kinda wished my fence went around the front of the house cuz I guarantee you nobody who looked twice at Cowboy would challenge him! But, he's really the softy - it's Maddie who doesn't like people!

Put up the fence and put up an electric gate. I want an electric gate soooo bad! Haha, around here they are common, brick or stone columns, iron gates that lead to a mansion set off the road. I could have one of those fancy gates......leading to my redneck mansion doublewide!

We want an electric gate someday! Next year we hope to have LGD's so we'll have intimidating dogs eventually. Although if you ask the FedEx man, my little 50 and 60 lb dogs are terrifying!

Bet he can't wait until you have twice that poundage in ONE dog, lol!

We have two FedEx guys. One is a goat farmer, I like him. The other one, yeah I have told him a thousand times my dogs aren't going to hurt him but he like runs to and from his truck and practically throws my stuff on the porch. We'll have to set up a way for him (and the mail lady who is also afraid of them) to deliver packages without getting too close to the big dogs! Lol

Oh I've fallen in love- @sumi have you been around any Boerboel dogs?? I am impressed. Had never seen one until my mom and DD were watching a dog show and my mom had to stop it and show it to me (she knows my taste in dogs!) and that is one amazing breed that my FedEx guy would run away from. And rightfully so! They're intense!

Anyway, my husband didn't butcher the cockerel today. He does NOT listen to me, grrr! But they're working on the barn at least.

I really want someone to buy my pig. I really don't feel like butchering anything else (other than a deer). I'm all done.

Oh, DH got a free smoker today. It's a little propane one, big enough for what we need! Woohoo! I need some bacon, ASAP!

Right? They're not too much different from an alano. Except Clara, she's a pint size wimpy alano lol! But they look a little bigger and hey, they hunt lions!

The rafters and 90% of the plywood are up. I'm so ready for this barn to be done!

I have never had any of the major dominance stuff with my goats- never had goats fight each other away from the hay feeder, etc. These new girls though, are used to being in a big herd of mostly alpines, and their mama was the herd queen. They're... bossy, lol. My former herd queen is now like the total bottom of the ladder, they pick on her the most (she's fat, she definitely eats... Just when it's "her turn"). It's funny, and I guess I better get used to it. DH says if I find a market for soaps, lotions, etc... I can expand my barn and my herd so... I'm gonna do that cause 10 goats is more fun than 6... Lol...
