Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Do you still have any of her kids?
I have a daughter of hers who is about 10 now and Chester is her grandson...heck - he may be her great grandson.

She made it through the night. She now has raging diarrhea - but that might be a good sign. Whatever was making her sick is coming out now! She didn't want her shots (penicillin and vit B) but she took her yogurt and probiotics pretty well. And, she drank a tiny bit of water. As long as she tries - I'll help her. When she quits trying - I'll help her then too.

Went to see dad today...:( He was having a bad day - according to him - and according to me too. He was weepy almost the entire time I was there and only ate a couple bites of his lunch. He says he's not hungry and I guess he's right. He's losing weight but he could stand to lose a little.

When DH and I went on Sunday he wasn't so emotional. I'm beginning to wonder that when I go alone he only thinks about family and the loss. When DH is there he seems to not dwell on the loss so much.

Old Doe is hanging in. She has sure surprised me. She drank water again this evening and voluntarily consumed minerals. I convinced her to munch on a couple of leaves from a sunflower plant and a couple tablespoons of alfalfa pellets soaked in water. No way do I think she's out of the woods - but she hasn't given up.

DH starts his new job Monday! And, Tuesday he flies to Kentucky for orientation. WHAT???? Nobody said anything about that! UGH - but ok - it's just for a couple days.

Kentucky? Ew! Nothing like surprise long distance trips, ugh.

Sorry your dad is having a hard time :(

How's your old doe this morning?

Hugs for you and your dad :hugs I hope everything will go great with your DH and the new job.

x2 on the doe, how is she doing today?

Thanks Sumi! I'm happy for DH with the new job - he really wasn't loving the old one very much.

This morning the old gal just happened to have picked a feed pan to lay right next to - and - when I put feed in there she started nibbling all on her own with no "coaxing" from me at all. She didn't eat a lot - but she did eat! YaY! When I went to give her the injection she objected quite strongly, lol. Can't blame her - but she needs to chill and rest instead of resisting so fiercely!

Yes - she is nibbling. She is moving around also. Every time I go out she's in a different spot even if I'm not seeing her up and about. However, she can get up and try to get away from her daily injections. Even though she's shown progress I had hoped she'd bounce right out of this once she started improving....progress is slow. But, progress is progress.

I glanced at my fig tree when I was out this morning and it's LOADED with ripe figs. I need to get a bucket when I get home and start picking! YaY!

I'm supposed to be off today - but I'm taking the students on a field trip. It'll hopefully be the last field trip I take this summer - even though there are several more planned. Other chaperones will step up for those - thank goodness!!

Students are rolling in now so I need to go give them the 'talk.' They're a good group and respond well to fairly minimal veiled threats, lol!

Kentucky is basically the promised land...

Glad the goat is doing well, and that things are moving well for his new job.
