I don't mind the snow at all. It's still new enough for me to be fun :) A friend from S.A. moved here, she arrived yesterday. I spoke to her this evening and told her we're probably looking at a decent snowfall this winter and she said she can't wait.

Not at all! Snow is rare in South Africa, so for us it's new and fun and exiting. I don't think she'd seen snow since she was very young, so this will be fun for her.

Ok I admit I like the first snow for maybe 5 seconds but even that is pushing it. It's snowing here right now and the snow storm is named Avey.

I like snow. Always have. I like colder weather better as well. I think 4 feet is the most I've ever been in though, so nothing super deep like some areas get.

It does make life more work. Especially digging paths.

Ice i can do without. Freezing rain sucks and was a frequent occurrence where I grew up.

On this side of the mountains it rains more even if it's drizzle. Several years ago we had this mist that left an inch of ice on each side of everything. Even the bottom. Wasn't fog but was light enough it behaves mostly like it. Only time Ive seen it in winter, but we get it once a year or so.

Broke my chicken pen because chicken wire and a few 2x4s can't take that weight. The chicken wire was basically a sheet of metal reinforced ice. The chicken coop is an actual structure so it survived and they were fine.

See how "fun" I am? Truck has 4 wheel drive. I won't have another truck without it.

If we get snow, everything shuts down. There is no equipment to clear the roads, so it is a body shop and wrecker's dream. We just stay home and let the idiots have at it.
