I'll keep my All American. I did research before I bought and hubby gave me the go ahead to spend the extra for it.
I love mine too. Especially that I don't have to worry about a rubber gasket... BUT
One think about a weighted canner vs a dial gauge; you need to have the dial gauge checked regularly to make sure it's still accurate. Mine was off by one pound this spring when I had it tested, so I need to make sure I run the pressure up one more pound than it says.

True, but the weight will keep the pressure at the right amount even if the dial part is off.

Thanks everyone. Long story short, we are looking at getting a canner, ahead of the long term schedule. May I blame ya'all? Lol

Don't think any futher, it's a no brainier... I've said this before and I'll continue to say it. Whoever invented the home pressure canner deserves the medal of freedom.

I just don't know which is the best brand to get. But I know others will point you to that.

As I said, I like my All American. No gasket to worry about. Just take care of it and there shouldn't be any problems.

:hide just make sure you keep the weight in a safe spot. I have 2 because I tend to misplace things when I put them in a "safe spot I wont forget"
