Oh, ugh. I hope he shapes up before fall. That would make for a long year.

I just realized I don't have to notify the school that I'm homeschooling for another whole year. One of my friends is on the school board in my district and she told me some stories yesterday... If I wasn't already homeschooling, they would have made me want to!

Homeschool check-in? In my area more families are interested in homeschool this year than in the past. I wonder who is homeschooling here?

I'm homeschooling DS13. I enrolled DS5 in virtual charter school so he'll be home also.

Lots of people in my area have discovered they can homeschool even if they are working. I think the teachers unions aren't going to be happy when they see where this trend is going.

I am thankful -- BIG time -- that my children are not a school issue for me!! Glad I have non in school. Now, DGD is to start college this Fall. We are still waiting to see if that will be virtual or ???

Yeah... my college kid is 100% virtual which is CRAZY!

And he hates college. I loved college.

I think the difference is that
1. He isn't excited about his classes
And
2. He gets ZERO of the social stuff.

Personally, I think college is over rated. Unless you are going for a small handful of careers, Trade schools are a much more viable option. For some reason, our society has decided that only people with a college degree have any merit, but look how fast they scream for help if their car dies, or the plumbing, or the electricity. Not to mention going out to eat. All of those are trades that don't need college, and some of them pay amazingly well.

Hi! I sent DS14 to high school, but pulled DS6 out of elementary school after a month because we're in a COVID hot spot and the school isnt following CDC guidelines. I wasnt planning to homeschool this year and I hope it is temporary (until he can get vaccinated.)

I'm great with academics, but struggling with teaching the younger one life skills. Do you have tips or inspiration?
