When I sold my horses, placing them in good homes was more important than the money I got for them. I more than suspect it will be the same for you when placing your does. It's not about the money.

I have a set of twin lambs now, the ewe lamb is spoken for, the ram lamb will go to auction. I'm taking 4 sheep on November 20, he is 2 months old today. Younger than I like to take them, but I have 3 ewes due in December, by the time their lambs are ready to go to auction, the ram lamb will be 5-ish months old and I don't want to keep him that long, not worth taking just one either. So he's gotta go. Sometimes we make those hard decisions. but like you say, it's easier when you haven't had them very long.

You guys have been through too much with this, and all because of a medicine reaction! Wow! Just isnt fair. When I see these TV ads, where they then hurriedly give possible sides.....I'm like, WTH...why would I want any of that? Alleve might be the strongest thing I ever take!

I see bellies on my goats and no idea when but, kids will arrive! There are days when I think six does would be perfect. Then, another day arrives.... 🤪 😶 I have sold a couple long yearlings this year. Looking at about 4 more adults with $$ in mind. some days you just don't have the time to decide, or not in the mood. Have one nice, young doe I'm selling simply because she's such a jumper! Another, simply not attached to, same age and don't need her. Two more, same deal. Maybe 3 yr olds. Not their fault, decent does. Right now I see hay money for the keepers. Auction this Saturday, soooo... probably going before I change my mind. Not best time of yr sale wise but, oh well.

What's a little mo' money? I swear we're bleeding money around here.

Finally got my truck in the shop. Needed new calipers, rotors and pads on both rear brakes and new pads on the front. Went ahead and had an oil change, new wipers and an inspection while it was there. It was the first money, besides oil changes, that I've spent on it since I paid it off about 6 years ago. So, I can't complain too much and it feels good to know it's all better now. I love my truck!

DH is still compromised. I don't know what I expect, but I'm ready for him to be over all this crap. Improvement is there, but slow. He's as tired of being down as I am of him being down. The one positive side effect of all this is that is blood sugar is more in control than I've ever seen it. Can't complain about that. Better blood sugar control will lead to better healing.

I need to move a round bale soon. That means I've got to put the hay lifter back on the tractor. It'll be a bit of a balancing act for one person but I think I can do it. If not - I'll call my son. He's the one that took it off when he borrowed the tractor a while back - so he can put it back on if I can't get it!

My son does that! Switch out for their use and never ask if it's ok to leave or what you have plans to do! Annoys me no end. It's especially bad when I've wrangled the implement on it, with plans to use in a few days. Time and energy.

Well some improvement is better than none for DH. His whole body was attacked with the inflammation. It takes a huge toll on every function. I'm sure it's hard on both of you....to see, adjust and endure. I suspect a couple more months. Hang in there.

At least you're both retired and home.

im sorry about your husband's health issues. it must be tough with them carrying on so long. i hope he heals well and gets on his feet soon.


wives always amaze me. they will stop at nothing for the ones they love. hes very lucky to have you the same way im blessed to have mine.
