When i was in Wyoming, we started a "cowboy church"..as most of us were doing chores while regular church was going..and as winter came, most of the chores move up in time as it gets darker earlier and earlier..so we all met on Saturday evenings around 8 through winter..it was fun. We would take turns "giving the sermon" and then since most of us sing and play an instrument, we would jam on gospel for a while...😉How wonderful you can help...I am sure they will appreciate your efforts

Cowboy church sounds fun.

We just could not find a local church preaching the truth. Always some watered down, feel good somewhat truth. So 3 like minded couples, who love The Father, Son and Holy Ghost started meeting. We have no "service" or routine besides for leaded coffee, biscuits and gravy and that's the truth 🤣. We just allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, so we never know what to expect. That's our "church" and "church service" \o/

IDK... but if I were a beef steer, I think I might like these digs. I mean it's not the greatest, but not the worst either. You know a nice tall roof over my head, sweet feed hanging on the gate, 150 gallons of rain water to drink and a feed block to lick. Plus I would get occasional scratches behind the ear from that woman who talks real sweet to me.

And if that weren't enough and I got real hungry, it's just a short walk up to the top of a hill to munch on a big round of early summer hay.

But you know... I'm obviously not a beef steer. Because beef steers are tough and like to lay out in the wide open, even during strong thunder storms. I can almost hear them saying, Ha! Thunder, lightning, strong winds and down pours, I'm a Black Angus Beef Steer! Is that all you got? Plus beef steers like to sleep most of the day. Then about dusk, under the cover of darkness, beef steers grazes the pasture until the sun rises. Then a beef steer lays down and sleeps to start it all it all over again for another day.

I just got caught up, I’m at the house in Groveton. Got a lot of painting done. Son tried to move shipping containers yesterday with 75 horse tractor and seriously broke welds and bent a couple of pins. He’s not happy about that. He’s off the week between Christmas and New Year and is going to call an 18 wheeler roll off wrecker to move them. THEN I can unload my flatbed trailer and get all this lumber out of the floor in the house.

Sister in law came and got her dresser out of the living room yesterday, now I can get to the wall behind it.

I loaded up a 60’ horse training round pen and walk through gate, 15 panels 10’ long in back of truck on Friday, plus 17 T-posts. Son and I unloaded them Saturday. I filled cab of truck with boxes, they are stuffed in top of small closet. Some are in corner of bedroom. I think I’ll be decorating with filled boxes. Nowhere to put them.

I’ll go home this evening, but will work on getting more painting done today. Tedious job, cutting in around doors, windows and trim. Love that blue painters tape!

Coffee is ready, going for second cup. Propped up in bed with a bucket for an end table to set my coffee on.

@CrealCritter if you haven’t taken the string off the round bale, please do so. I am picky about that, don’t want livestock to get a string in their mouth and swallow it. Hay string has many uses, fold it up into a hank, tie a loose knot in the middle and hang on a nail in a handy place. Makes great garden trellis for runner beans, tying up tomatoes and such.

Fruitcake. Some love it, others despise it. I like to buy just a little one this time of the year. I like it, and it brings back fond memories of my mom and grandmother who loved it.

I LOVE Fruit Cake, DH , NO!, I too get the small one-- I am going to make one after we settle and all the new projects are done-- a nice 4th of July one hahaha

No fruit cake here but we do make and eat Julekaga for the holidays, YUM
