Those are nice ones 👍 I still have the last ones I dug up curing in the sun. Thanks for reminding me I need to go flip them over.

Hi everyone! It is getting chilly here in West Michigan. Lot of northern winds today. I really did nothing but to let the animals out and this time unsupervised, lol Last night the knuckleheads pecked my hand with lots of utterances. I think they were complaining about not being outside. But it was raining, so they had to stay in their runs. Today no rain and just got back from kiss them good night and nobody pecked me but one of the new cockerel who is not used to the night routine now that they are on their own. He'll get it eventually.

Tomorrow will hope to work in the garden, taking the tomato plants out. Now there are still some peppers growing. Uncertain if should call it the season or wait some more on them.

Found some rubber mats on Craigslist and will get them tomorrow to put on the duck area. Might not be much, but hope it helps some. Once things get a bit better financially, will look into gravel for the floor. It looks so muddy right now.

I have been planning on beginning to wrap the outside of their runs but have not found the plastic yet. Will hate it if I have to buy another box. They are about 80 or 90 dollars, :ep

Needed sweet potato flour for Mom so hit up one of the asian groceries over in Tacoma. Figured I'd snap a few pictures because we were talking about yams and sweet potatos before.

Taro is pretty versatile. I haven't had much yucca or yam.

Crazy Brunswick cabbage leaves are huge. I have hope for sauerkraut 😁 Baker Creek says 10 inch spacing 🤣. I planted 2 foot apart, should have planted 3 foot apart. Plants are over running each other. Oh well too late now, do better next season.

That's Wild... I've never even heard of Yucca and Tarro before. But I don't get out much either.

Taro chips are quite good. Very similar to sweet potato chips. It's used in many of the snacks we get for hubby's lunch.

You can cure them outside? I thought they needed heat and humidity? (Maybe you still have that?) I am going to have to cure mine inside I think

I'm mimicking what I seen done in North Carolina, unwashed sun cured. Others may have a better method to cure them, I only know one way.

I got my neighbor today, strike! 😂

I would NOT cure regular potatoes this way though. They turn green when hit by the sun, green potatoes taste nasty, not worth eating..
