The issue was no floor room to lay a queen mattress down. Kids room has a twin full bunk bed and a desk. No room in the middle for queen size. My room has a king size bed, no floor space to lay a queen mattress. They are bygone back and I got 2 cots.

It's been raining since last night. I didn't check the rain gauge before bed so I don't know how much we got then. Rain gauge resets at midnight and we've had a half-inch since then. Looks like we've fallen back into a pattern of rainfall every few days. Ok - but rain over night and let me have some sunshine in the daylight hours!

I've still been sticking a few seeds in the ground here and there. Direct sowed some cabbage seeds the other day. I'm interested to see how (or if) that works with the below normal cool weather we've been having. Google says they'll germinate in cool soil - in the 40's even. We'll see how that works. I got some fresh seeds and stopped using the peat pellets that I've been using and started some new seeds. Hopefully I can get more stuff set out. Normally this wouldn't be too late for my area - we shall see I guess, lol. The rest of the fall garden is actually looking pretty good.

Goats are not loving the rain. Maybe this would be a good time to collect some pee samples. They'll stay in the barn rather than run out of the barn into the rain. Smaller area = easier collection? :idunno
