Yep....even the lowly chicken is way up in price!! Yikes. I just picked up some split breasts at $1.29#, a loss leader. Have a good amount canned chicken but these I vac sealed for frying in winter. Love fried with skin on -- a treat as I don't fry a lot. Have a couple whole frozen, plus turkey. Winter bakers🤣

Tonight it's steamed shrimp. :drool

last night was some cottage cheese with tomato chunks on top and then some pepper. i've not had pepper in a long time - i think i need to replace these pepper corns because they're likely over 20yrs old.

Just made a qt of cottage cheese 🙂 I like it for breakfasts, with some fruit. Also use it at dinner with garlic bread & tomato -- bruschetta fashion with olive oil. Yum. Might sound strange to some but, cottage cheese is good food nutritionally. 👍

it's also incredibly beautiful when you put a few spoonfuls of pickled beets on top of it... :)

we buy it in 3lb containers most of the time and then we often reuse those containers many times for giving food to people we cook for.
