We're in the process of throwing out/donating/selling off loads of stuff that's just accumulated as well. Not that we'll get much debt paid off with it, just a matter of clearing the clutter! It literally filled up an entire 8x10 shed of just stuff we didn't even know was there anymore and at...
Oh boy... I could write a book! :gig
Most recent mistakes: Don't buy a house before you sell the old one.
Don't trust a real estate agent. Ever. Research all possible restrictions on properties yourself. Found out there's a covenant here but we're doing what we want anyway. Just biding our time...
I don't envy you. :hugs My mom had a full hyst when she was in her late 30's and was put on HRT for years. I don't think it did her any favors and she wished she would have known about the natural alternatives back then. Also look into St Johns Wort for depression and exercise when you're...
Boy what aren't we doing these days in the name of "saving money"... Here's just in the last week: quit eating out entirely (it's always a disappointment anyway), bake most of my own bread and make my own yogurt and cheese, knitting myself a sweater rather than buying a new one, bought maternity...

Have you checked out the book Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day? I had a really nice bread machine that worked fine but I gave it to my mom after I got that book. It is so easy. I do kneed it a little more (2 minutes?) and I let it rise about 2 hours longer than what they say to get better...
Thank goodness you all have the energy to argue the pros of homeschooling! I know people mean well but I just have to shake my head sometimes at how little people understand about the purpose and origins of the public school system... Start with reading some John Holt if anyone reads books...
When I had ear infections as a kid my mom would just clean our ears good with hydrogen peroxide and then make me sleep with pieces of cotton ball soaked in olive oil stuck in my ears.
Our school experiences were middle of the road, not great, but not always horrid either. But being "older" parents, things seem like they've changed so much since we were in school and we see a lot of problems that were minor when we were kids. My DH took some convincing too. But I was seriously...
