stay warm and safe! And I'll steal a slice of that pecan pie and put a dollop of that chocolate pudding on top. Yummm!
*mouse with a tail* :lau :lau :lau :lau
TH - that brings up another question. I've been using old white t-shirt to strain mine in, but (and here's another reason I lose patience) I get whey drips all over the counter. Some winds up in the bowl, but it wicks up the t-shirt and drips over the edge of the bowl. Help?
It's supposed to be 21 day "diet," so we'll see.
And thanks WZ - now I have something to do with my kefir whey when I make my kefir cheese! (The critters won't be happy though - they sure do like it poured over their food!)
OK to soak for 24 hrs with the whey in it? And WZ - what's your...
Howdy, OFG - got me a job! :weee :celebrate :clap But it seriously cuts into the 'puter time. Oh well. Can't have everything! Or wait - it's supposed to be everything in moderation, isn't it :plbb
What is a typical response? If some unplanned something happens, I kinda sorta "freeze" - it's like my brain can't process what to do, or even if if I know what to do, it's like trying to figure out what to do in a fog. For instance, a plate of food turned over on the carpet, and I just sat...
I've mentioned that my some ladies in my church are doing the Daniel Fast. (I'm going to modify it slightly and allow myself kefir, b/c of all the good stuff in it, and because I'm so new to it, and because I don't get much in me to begin with ;) )
But - one of the big components on this is...
Haven't tried it - yet. Tonight! I think I'm gonna do a combo of Abifae's Ranch and Riley's ranch (love me some cilantro!), and throwing the ACV in there is a good way to get it into me ;)
I do however, plan to use my "fresh" kefir for the buttermilk, and my kefir cheese in place of the sour...
One thing I've always wondered about humanure: what if you or a family member is sick? Do you compost the liquid #2? Or make sure (how?) it goes in a different container/spot? I guess even though we think of vomiting in the toilet, that could be done in a separate spot quite easily. (Or should...
exactly my point, Noobie. I was raised in the country, in a rural farming community, so, a little bug here or there in my food doesn't creep me out. And I'd def rather have a little bit of bug than some chemical or pesticide.
I just wish I could buy real milk!
This is my take on a Bisquick classic, sans bisquick!
Make up your favorite variety of sloppy joe meat - I use their recipe for this
1-1/2 - 2 lbs ground meat (I used venison)
chopped onion to taste (whole small one, 1/2 a big one)
minced garlic to taste (LOTS!)
Brown these together. Since the...
My son just got his latest Ranger Rick magazine. And I was bored, so I skimmed through it. It had an article on different bugs people eat around the world :sick
But one of the things it said :somad was that we eat bugs all the time without knowing it, because it's nearly impossible to keep...
Abi - good mental stress reliever - bleeding all over things with virtual red ink :thumbsup
I want a lid for my sink! Somebody needs to invent that.
And I thought Flylady said the way to keep stuff outta the sink is to put a (laminated) sheet of paper IN the sink that reads "Your dirty dishes...
Campbellscoop - if you use the search function and type in kefir, you'll get a whole slew of threads, but this one is the most informative, imo: http://www.sufficientself.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2984
And - I have made kefir cheese!!!! And it is yummy with peanut butter :D
