Seems like the best and free, most availble 5 gal. pails in my area are picklee buckets. I've been able to locate a few good sources. I wash them out with detergent and bleach and they still stink of pickles..! How big an issue is this if i'm storing in 7mm mylar bags..? Will the pickle...

Theres only one way to find out Tallman, open the bucket, mill some and give it a try. You can always reseal the bucket again with some more DE and oxygen absorbers. Do you know what type of corn you have stored...?

Thanks Freemotion, so i can mill hard red, soft or hard white, really doesn't matter that much for pizza dough...? Isn't the hard red wheat used allot for whole wheat breads.?

Freemotion, is popcorn used alot for making corn meal..? I do want to store some for longer term. My understanding is that corn has a low fat content , so one wouldn't have to worry about it going rancid.The feed corn i get has allot of small and large kernels. I agree, i'd have to pick through...

For those of use just learning,millng our own flour.Wanting to make the delicous pizzas described in this thread, what grain am i milling...? Soft or hard, spring or winter,white wheat...? Or does it not make a difference...?

I'm interested in making soy flour as well as soy milk. Is this possible with one type soy bean..? Is thier a type soy bean thats better for flour..? One thats better for milk and tofu..? Any advice and knowledge on the topic would be very much welcomed...Thanks..Kevin
