I am planning on making a smoker for cooking meats this year. I have done the searches and all I was just wondering if anyone on here had a unique plan for building a small smoker, not a big smokehouse.

It looks to me that the #1 enemy to any tanning process is the culprit. You did not flesh (scrape) the hide enough. you have to remove all traces of meat, fat, grissle, in fact you can only leave skin and hair. What did you use to scrape the hide?

mine is a 7 tier ronco, i did a trade for it and a microwave chip maker and sent homemade jar candles and seeds for it the chipmaker was included for the kid's for fun. i couldn't tell u what it cost new but works awesome and love it!! $100 should get u a real nice one to use!! i can't imagine...
