2dreams - Its Spring In Mississippi w/pallet bed pic

Thanks Free - did not even think of letting them know about all the members here. I fully intend to make myself heard I just don't expect great things. Who knows. I am wrong often. LOL

Oh, I hope you are wrong this time.....you should not have to pay for an obviously defective product! If Mirro has any sense, they will make you very happy, and be right quick about it, too!

HI 2dream

WOW you are having some troubles...just enough to get on your nerves! :)

I know..happens to me too.

My advice....go camping...LOL-LOL
Just got back from 4 days in the blue ridge mts. and I feel refreshed...of course came back to no goat chow....have to run to the other barn and haul some back. Goats are ticked off at me, who knew Tony fed the very last goat pellet before we left...UGH

Kindness is around....the "unkind" stand out! So we notice them more. Our southern hospitality is here still!! :)

While camping I was at the door to the store to open it and 3 big teens just kept walking into the door, so I opened it all the way and held it open....yup, no thanks.....so I said out loud, YOU ARE WELCOME and they all looked back and then had that sheepish look....HA HA HA.......I did let them know that manners to matter! :)

BUT At the campground 99.9% were the nicest people! Except for those 3 kids..HA HA

so hang in there gal!

We put so much work on ourselves and kill ourselves to get it done or make ourselves sad cause we didn't get it accomplished, just relax a bit! :) Life goes on every day whether we are happy, sad, tired, relaxed, etc....so relax and be happy...makes the day better..HA HA HA

Sorry to hear about the canner. My Presto directions have me vent for ten minutes as well. I though that was maybe why everything was getting over cooked. What do you think??

FC - People at campgounds are mostly friendly. I love camping for that very reason. I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Maybe next time my mom goes to visit her sister I can take a weekend trip.

Tanks, I am not an expert canner by any means. I have just never vented for 10 minutes. I usually pop that weight on shortly after I get a steady stream of steam. But since this was a new canner I thought - well heck, follow the directions. I honestly think if I had popped that weight on like I normally do all would have been well. I am a hurry up person most of the time because when we can we normally have 4 or 5 cannings to do in one afternoon.
And of course things need to be canned during my work week. LOL
At 20 to 25 minutes a pop, plus prep time and cool down time I am rushing around. 3 or 4 minutes tops has always worked for me. We are not dead yet and my jars always seal.

All I can say is give it a try.

I am definitely going to make the call and if I don't get some satisfaction I will point them to this site, BYC and TEG. I will even give them my screen name. LOL Let them come on over and see how indignant we can all be. LOL

Still fighting with my internet connection. I am missing so much here. I will read and when I try to post I get kicked off line.

:he

I did call the pressure cooker company this morning as soon as I got to work. (Naturally my phone was not working at home this morning).
They spoke very nicely and said they would replace the canner.
We will see. It has been 4 hours now and I am still waiting on them to email me a return authorization number along with a mailing label. I am trying to be patient but.......

Now if I can just find time to contact my internet provider. For some strange reason my Boss thinks I am actually suppose to work today. I still have not figure out what makes him think today should be different than any other day. :gig

I know, instead of typing this I could be calling the internet people.

Hmmm.... Your canner sounds like it didn't meet QA (quality Assurance) standards and you have a dud.

Items like these are often tempered at a certain temprature, held at that for so many minutes, than cooled off at certain rate, either air/water/oil cooled. This allows the molecules to expand, tighten, and create bonds of strength.

I would suspect that yours wasn't tempered at all, hence the bottom expanding in a irregular fashion.

Armed with my added info., they will uderstand that you know something about the process inwhich these are made.

Ok.... Now you may be excused from Science class...

Have you reset your modem yet? Now, sometimes just before they fail completely they start to loop, hence short times on and off. :hu

Glad to read your doing okay, let us know more about your canner when there is more news to report.

Good news. I finally got my RA number and UPS label at 6 o'clock tonight. So the canner is packed up and ready to go. We will see how long it takes them to send me a new one.

According to the information they gave me over the phone apparently I was suppose to boil the seal before first use.
I ask her where that was in the directions. I also ask her why. She had no clue about why but did tell me that if all the water evaporated that means the canner did not seal properly.

I sat and scratched my head for a few minutes before I told her that I was under the impression that if it was not sealed that water would escape around the lid. So was she. LOL I told her that did not happen.

At any rate they seem to have a good policy. I am sending it back. Shipping is being paid for by them and I will supposedly get a new canner I guess after they inspect. :fl

Jay, I have reset everything. My computer modem. My phone modem. Unplugged everything at once and restarted my whole system. Unplugged everything seperately and restared each individual item. But tonight has been a good night. I was able to type this whole post at one time without being kicked off line.
