I like it! Does the boy eat beets? LOL Do you roast them fresh or can/pickle them?

Oh I love them roasted, or just sauteed in butter. And I remember being about that age and helping my dad in our garden, then going over to grandma's house to help in hers. You're doing a good thing there, @Chic Rustler!

We had mashed turnips with dinner. Actually 1/2 turnips 1/2 potatoes. It was pretty darn good. I don't see why more people aren't growing turnips?

People don't grow turnips because they smell like feet? :gig. People who eat ketogenic diet tried to convince me they are exactly like potatoes. So I tried them. :sick I think their sense of smell is broken. :gig. But they were right about cauliflower - that's my new favorite vegetable, all mashed up with butter and cream. :drool

I grow turnips and eat the greens. I have eaten turnips, but they are not my favorite. I am going to try roasting them in the oven.
