A new journey into homesteading "pic heavy"

Got a little bit done today. Burned that huge year old brush pile on the back of the property and started sheet mulching a little. Ran out of cardboard before we got much done.

We got a little more sheet mulching done yesterday. A neighbor came over with their little truck and hauled wood chips for us. It made things move much faster! Still have a long way to go, but progress is progress.

so as you can see germination has been spotty at best. The wife said she loaded these beds to the max with seeds. Either the seeds are crap or she was exaggerating........so today I spread the remnants of 8 packs of seeds (probably around 1000) all over these beds. Carrots, beets, yellow beets, assorted turnips, radishes, some lettuce, two whole packs of onions, etc.

If the germination rate stays the same I should be alright. If they all go she's going to kill me.

Hey - it's worth a try. And, you can always thin, thin, thin!

Or build a couple more beds!

got too much going on this year. Gotta finish the orchard, fence the rabbits, build a brooder, etc

..............I would love to get that bed and trellis built in front of the rabbits before summer tho. One step at a time.
