Things are going great in the meat department! Now, come spring, you'll have a vegetable garden and before you know it you will be putting a lot of home grown food on the table.
Y'all are doing a great job in the freezer department! A good variety of meat is even better! On those roosters, they look small, but in my experience, roosters eat a LOT and the sooner they are off the feed bill, the better. Layer roosters can get big, but it takes a long time and the feed to meat conversion is not the best. I butcher excess roos, but I only feed them long enough to get them big enough to butcher.
we will see what they look like in a couple weeks. I moved them to the grow out pen where they can eat more. I'm ready to get rid of them, but not exactly looking forward to the work
