I've been MIA lately! I haven't been on much at work, been busy. By the time I get home I'm WAY too busy.

Things have been plodding along though!
I have had 7 chicks hatch so far, and there was one more pip this morning. I'm feeling like this is going to be a poor hatch rate, since I had 30 eggs in there. I'm not sure how many are left, because I did remove a few that weren't viable. I'll have to recount when I get home. The turkey eggs are still in the bator...they're due in 8 days!
Kids are growing well! June is thin, so I've been working hard to put weight on her. She did this last year as well. She's eating a ton, and I bought some corn oil to add some fat to her diet. That's in addition to 16% dairy ration, alfalfa pellets (which she will eat, but doesn't love them), BOSS, and good hay. I just don't have time to find a source of veggies to feed her, but she gets our scraps. Hmm..maybe I'll call our grocery store real quick and see if they can give me the "wasted" veggies.
I'm getting 10 new pullets on Saturday. I just renewed our state's egg packing license. I was looking at the info that has to go on the carton to be "legal" and it's ridiculous. Did you know they have to be labeled as Eggs or else people might be too stupid to realize what's in the carton.

And I'm going to have to raise my egg prices, which bums me out. Feed has gone up. Last May it was $7.80 per bag and now it's $10.05 per bag. That's a big jump.
Oh, and my new focus (well, not really new, but renewed) is on getting in shape and shedding some excess weight. I think an ideal for my personal body would be 20-25 lbs lighter. I know I can do it, it's just the commitment it takes to exercise every day is just too much. I have so much other crap to do, and I always let exercise be the thing to get pushed out. I really want to be successful at this, so I'm going to push to stick with it. I've started walking in the evenings, and eating like I should be eating.
