There were 18 turkey eggs. I candled a couple days ago for the first time (I find if I candle any more than once I kinda get obsessed :hide) and it looked like about 5 for sure were duds, but the rest I thought had potential!
 
:woot Happy early Thanksgiving! Or are you not supposed to count your poults until they're hatched either? I always get so excited by baby anything (except baby babies :idunno :D).
 
Congrats on the poults!! Mine are due to hatch...the 26th. I have 12 in the bator...11 under a fat hen....and 3 under a bantam. :) Come on Turkey dinners!! Ooops, I mean babies!!
 
:celebrate I woke up to 2 slate turkey babies!!!! One more slate is trying to hatch.

I'm so nervous right now. It's a good thing I'm not home! I hope more hatch. I always get nervous because usually if they're going to hatch they all hatch right around the same time. Cross your fingers for me everyone!!

Justusnak, wow, that's a ton of turkey eggs!! Do you ever sell eggs? I had to buy these at an auction!

Yes, I do sell them....when I have buyers...LOL
This year seems no one around me wants to buy...so I just keep putting them under broodys. I have 6 more in the kitchen...on the counter...waiting to hear back from a woman that "seemed" interested. I can't waite too much longer....I will put them under another hen....or in the other bator. Can't let them go to waste. :)
My 2 hens are still laying machines...They are mixed.. Tom is a Naraganset/Royal Palm...the hens are One is a blue slate, the other a Chocolate. This years poults should be great roaster!!

If I don't get a good hatch, I may be interested in buying some eggs from you if you're interested in shipping them (I'd pay shipping). What kind of turkeys do you have?
