I have one, and love it! I'm curious. I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere, but where do you live? I'm thinking some place on the East Coast since it sounds like you're getting the same storm I'm getting. And, I also got the rain/snow slushy mix this morning, and am supposed to get 5-8" of snow tonight. If you don't want to post it on a public board, and don't mind sharing, you can shoot me a PM.
I'm in MD! On the Eastern Shore!

You may not be to far from me! I'm about 30 minutes SSE of Philly, in NJ.

I know we're not far from Philly...maybe an hour and a half? How'd you make out last night? We got thunder snow! I got home from work and went out to feed the animals. We had snow on the ground. It was raining, then turned to sleet, then it started thundering and lightning!! It was crazy! I had to retreat to the chicken coop for a few minutes until it calmed down. :lau

We didn't get any of the thunder snow, but we got a mess. I'm so ready for spring.

hey baby!

did you see the 'outtake' of the weather guy on the national news last nite? the nite before he said on his on-the-spot report that just before they went live there was 'snow thunder'...so last nite they showed him standing them prepping for that report and the snow thunder happened...

hee hee hee they had to bleep out what he said as he ran away yelling "WHAT WAS THAT!?!?!?" hee hee hee

wild weather is right!

happy friday!
:-)

 I'm going to have to find that news clip. I witnessed thunder snow once - freaky cool!

No, I didn't see that!! Sounds hilarious though! I went out to feed the animals and *thought* I saw lightning, but second guessed myself. I had heard rumblings too, but we're across the bay from Aberdeen Proving Grounds, and we can hear them testing sometimes. Guess I just thought it was that. Then I was at the hay shed forking hay, and there was more lightning. I dropped down low and waited for a second, then decided to quickly visit the chickens and stay in their coop. I did get a pic of my sheep w/ ice pellets on his back. They were too interested in their grain to worry about thunder or lightning.

I've seen thunder snow once. And as surprising as this might sound, I was comforted by it. It was the night I lost my first horse. RU had driven w/me to New Bolton. I didn't have a clue how to go, and I was quite upset. So, she went w/me and stayed w/me. I think I would have gone crazy w/out her. The storm started right about the time I made the decision to let her go. I've never seen a storm like that b4, but I took comfort in it. I felt like it was her way of telling me she was OK, and thanking me for setting her free.

That's really cool, even though it's sad you had to let her go. :)

It's been just over 5 years now. But, it was the kindest thing I could have done for her. And, if I hadn't lost her, I would not have Misty. Misty is the better horse. Plus, she's younger. At times I was a little afraid that I was asking to much from Binty, but she was always eager to go. I don't have that same worry now.
