I've been knitting more to take my mind off Purl.
This line just made me laugh! :gig How can knitting get your mind off of Purl. Don't you knit like me... you know knit one "purl" two?

Glad your lamb meat turned out so well! We LOVE lamb at this house. We have just about finished off the last one we bought so I will probably be in the market for a lamb sometime this fall. Your roast sounds delightful!
:lau I'm glad you "get it". My friend keeps spelling Purl as "Pearl". Maybe she thinks I'm an idiot for misspelling it, but it's not misspelled! :D

I told DH we need to raise a couple freezer lambs each year, and he said, "I was thinking like 4 of them."

:thumbsup

Hubby and I went about a year and a half without eating much beef at all .... OK so we still occasionally had a steak or hamburger out. :hide

Lamb substituted perfectly in almost every dish that I normally use beef. They say that sheep milk tastes almost identical to cows milk as well.

I have grown to love sheep even more since my daughter got her little wether as company for our old pony. Malcolm is a character. :)

I love that you spell it P-U-R-L.....then again I have a dog named F-R-A-W-G....

I hope she gets going soon and doesn't have any problems lambing.... :fl I know you are worried!

Thanks, I named her Purl after the knitting term. Purl is a stitch used in knitting, and I thought it was fitting since she's a wooly girl. ;) Well, actually I give my sister all the credit for coming up with her name. :P

anything!?!??!

i think she is faking it. like our Debbie the goat. sheesh!

At least the delay is giving her prolapse time to re-seat and heal a bit. There is some value to waiting. :)

I believe she said that Purl may have not gotten bred on the first go round and may have settled on the 2nd, which means she's got another few weeks.

I'm *really* starting to think that too. That would make her due around March 3rdish. I *think* I could survive another week.

Having a bit of a dilemma though. She's in the pen alone in the barn, and she's been alone for a week now. I'd really like her to have company because I worry she's lonely. I really don't want to put her in the pasture because I can't keep as close of an eye on her. June and Darla are in the pasture and I can't really keep just one out there either, and the pen is kinda small for all three of them for an extended time.

Plus, if I have more than one ewe in there, I won't be able to listen on the monitor and know exactly which one is up and moving about. :/ I think I may just have to leave her in on her own for another week (if she's really not due until March 3rdish).

Why not pen them up together at night at least? You'd know the difference between who's making what noise - trust me. Now I'm able to distinguish who's chewing cud, who's snoring and if the babies are nursing or playing.

On the positive side, though, March 3rd really isn't that far away and she could go early!
