I am moving really slow today. I guess this back pain is going to be my new reality if I can't get a few days in a row to rest it - but that won't happen as long as I have a garden and Buford to pull around.
This day is driving me up a wall.
had to shave Buford's left shoulder where he developed a hot spot - I imagine from being wet for so long after his bath on Tuesday. Rested.
Put the bought chicks outside in the big kennel, fed the rest of the chickens and gave the rabbits some fresh oat grass and frozen water bottles. Rested.
Went to the store and bought twine and some groceries. Rested.
Staked 18 tomato plants. Sat on an old john boat in the shade of a pear tree - and rested. And as I rested I sulked over my barren garden. I think next week one morning I am going to till the back half again and just take every seed I have leftover and throw them all out on the ground and jsut wait to see what happens. Can't be any worse than now. *sigh* *pout*
While I was in the garden moving the sprinkler and setting tomato stakes, I had Buddy tied to his tie out post. I took Buford back inside and when I came out Buddy was standing at the gate, his halter hanging from the tie out post, still buckled. I guess somehow the little turd pulled it over his head. That is why I don't leave him unsupervised while tied.
On another Buddy note - I talked to my farrier yesterday about sending Buddy home with him. He will just teach him some basics (lunging, standing for grooming -which he does except his tail, he'll kick your face in- etc), pony him on trail rides, take him along to stand tied at rodeos and horse shows. We are working out how much it will cost and when I will need to pay him (all at once right off, as we go, or all at the end) - that will determine when I get to send the horse off. I have to concentrate on $$ for Rio's surgery and then also the $250-$500 for my own surgery.
Maybe that is why my garden isn't doing anything - nature knows I need to be working some overtime at work instead of getting dirt therapy.
