Kind of makes me wary of eating anything grown in that part of the garden ;) lol (I don't live near a chemical or industrial plant, but there are lots and lots of UFO sightings in the next city over)

oh great so now I have pod people to look forward to??

Was it from non GMO seed?

My mom saved seed from a cucumber plant (GMO) and ended up with what she called 'bastard squash' the next year. It was orange, too. She said it didn't taste anywhere near as good as what the cucumber plant had been the previous year.

:yuckyuck

your mom could have called it B.S. for short. Gotta love that dumb GMO garbage huh?

Yeah I ordered seeds from territorial and from baker creek this year.

Today has been a partying kind of day ( )
After my morning chores I got cleaned up and then went to Mr. Old Neighbor's 90th birthday party (I thought he was already 90). He made a big fuss over me being there and introduced me to some of his old buddies. They all said they'd heard about me lol
One old farmer was talking about the storm clouds gathering and he was hoping for rain - said he wasn't going to be able to fill his grain elevator this year and he was still holding out hope that he would have more hay than just for his personal use.

After the birthday party (pulled pork, bbq beans, cole slaw...) I drove up to the north end of our county for a baby shower. I love the north end. It is one of the more rural areas in our county. My grandfather lived in the north end and that's where I learned to love farm stuff.
I ran late to the shower because I kept getting distracted and pulling over :D

I think they said they want to give me this place

After the shower I went with my friend over to her mom's little one bedroom cabin on the river and we visited for a bit on the screened in back porch over the river (which is so low kids were wading across it). It was a great, quiet way to end the day. Think I'm gonna call it a night early (after my evening chores that apparently didn't do themselves)
