Alternative to store-bought coffee creamer

In a pinch, butter pecan ice cream is better for you then creamer. You could even make your own! Freeze it in tiny containers, and label it something nasty so the family will leave it alone.
I like the way you think!

Check out the Da Vinchi sugar-free syrups. I used to use the caramel flavor and then add heavy cream to my coffee. I still managed to lose a ton of weight and lower my blood pressure drinking that every morning :D

Hey look! There is a Praline and a Toffee flavor!

Sometime you can find these syrups at Sam's. That is where I used to get mine, but I have ordered from netrition in the past.

I will add vanilla extract, stevia and cream if I need a falvoured coffee. Well, now that I have goats milk, I add that, but I don't usually go for the flavoured coffes often. Adnt eh stevia I use is powdered, and it tastes okay in coffee.

I have tried to like stevia- I just can't do it. It is easier for me to go sweetener free totally than to change to a different sweetener than sugar. So, now I have gotten used to no sugar in my coffee, but I still have to have 1/2 and 1/2 to really enjoy it. I have black coffee at work- but that is more for the caffeine than it is for sitting and enjoying what I am drinking :/ I have finally reached the point where flavored coffee really just tastes wrong...

Well, I did not eschew the coffee creamer this morning...but I did reduce by half (meaning I drank one cup of coffee with the normal amount of creamer instead of drinking two cups). I am going to try this for a week and then see how much more I can reduce/remove from my diet. Baby steps.

The only Stevia I can use in my coffee is the Stevia in the Raw brand. They claim to have removed that stevia taste. It's still there but less noticible. It still took me a while to get used to it and then it was only because I felt I had to get that last bit of sugar out of my diet. I can't, just can't, go without sweetener in my coffee. :sick

As always, a wealth of information. Thanks!

Stevia doesn't do as good a job sweetening bitter things like coffee and chocolate, but I find that it is helpful in reducing the sweetener needed in chocolate at least. It works great with spices like chai tea and sweets made with ginger and cinnamon and such. I'm not as big a fan in plain black or green tea, so now I drink chai all the time and love it. It is great for sweetening berries/fruit, too, and kombucha.

Do you use it when making your kombucha or to sweeten it afterwards? I could switch to chai and probably should look towards doing that..... I'm up to two cups of coffee a morning and sometimes a third in the afternoon. I never used to do that!

I use it when I pour a glass. I use sugar to make it as the scoby eats up all the sugar so no worries there.
