I am sure ridicule, mockery and unwillingness to take even one small step will solve everything too. /sarcasm

There are communities already taking these steps. There are already church groups taking these steps. There are already individuals and families who have done it. Thus it can be done

Because some have a CAN'T DO attitude doesn't invalidate any of the accomplishments that have already taken place.

How about copying the successes?

I updated my post, but my sarcasm attack still stands.

Abi, great point about your room mates. They are not the healthiest bunch. Even with a huge back yard, they don't have any veggies growing. My yard is about 1/4 of the size of theirs.

Remember your apartment by Panera? That balcony could have grown you quite bit of produce. I know we talked about it briefly before you moved.

Freemotion, thanks for outlining your families story. Another good example to add to the numerous ones I found (only a small portion of which I provided links. Many many more out there).

My mom grew enough tomatoes for her use and for canning outside the door of her inner city (Milwaukee) townhouse. One small step, but it is fresh produce she otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford.

I am all for copying successes. I don't think I said anything to invalidate anyone's accomplishments. as you may recall, I grew up in the inner city. I got out years ago. I don't see myself as morally superior to those who did not or could not. I don't judge them. I KNOW how hard it is and not everyone has what it takes.

What I am saying is not ALL disadvantaged people are merely unwilling to take steps. Some really have no idea what the steps are.

you threw your fair share around many times. (not attack, just saying we were sarcastic about some statements you made throughout the threads.....not like anyone's never done that!)
