I don't crochet, but I do Tat. My grandma did knitting and tatting. I couldn't figure out the knitting, so I am the grand-daughter that tats.

Good for you! I was never able to get the hang of tatting, so I bow in admiration.

Some of the more elaborate baby gear I have found in the world of crocheting centers on christening gowns. This is a pattern I saved but haven't made yet:
