Hi from another "once upon a time" Californian. I grew up on the Monterey Peninsula, and DH and I lived in/near San Jose for 25 years. I had a really nice garden there, on our suburban lot. We have been living in SW Oregon since we retired, and I love it here (I have chickens!) ... but still consider myself a Californian Girl Oh, and my potted lemon trees that I brought with me seem to like it here too, though they have to stay under cover in the winter.
