I know we all talk about how wonderful ACV is over on the BYC website. But I wanted to share this little bit of info with you all. I read some good info on ACV about 4 years ago. So I started drinking the recommended amt, which is two tablespoons a day in a glass of water. I drink this every morning monday thru friday. I have RLS, also called Restless Leg Syndrome. The ACV I have been drinking has allowed me to NOT be on any kind of drugs for RLS.
I know for a fact that it alleviates the symptoms. If I go more that 4 days WITHOUT drinking it, the symptoms start. If I continue to go without ACV They will get worse. The doctor is amazed at my lack of symptoms. I am proud that I do not have to take these drugs.
If anyone is suffering from RLS or even from leg cramps, please try this natural remedy. Take the ACV for at least a month and you will see a lessening of symptoms if they dont disappear altogether. I say a month but it will probably work much quicker than that. Give it a try. As long as you know what it is that you have and it is not some other problem, then you have nothing to lose.

I am so glad ACV works well for you!

I can't handle the taste at all.....I would rather drink a little pickle juice...LOL...wierd, I know but vinegar is great for the body.

My best fix....I do alot of natural things but my top one is.....organic black cherry juice. Takes the stiff out of the joints.....what a wonder for me. I buy a concentrated bottle at the health food store, mix with water and enjoy a large delish glass each morning. Honestly, if I go 3-4 days without it, I am stiff as a board in the morning, with it, no stiffness. The difference is huge for me!!! I am one of the lucky ones that it triggers great anti-inflammatory help for me.

For Tony...his #1 is 100% George's Organic Aloe Vera Juice. He had IBS type problems with tons of heartburn, he now drinks a small glass each day and he is fixed. None of the problems that were so horrible before this. I researched it on the internet and it said aloe vera heals the linings of the tummy and intestines and by goodness if it didn't work so well for him. Off all medications that didn't work anyway.

Can't wait to see what else helps others...always looking to improve my natural rememdy products!!!!! good thread

Mmm. I like pickle juice. LOL

Another use for ACV is a facial scrub. Take a small container. Like those 1/2 cup reusable Glad containers is the right size. Fill it about 2/3 full with any kind of regular table salt (can be sea salt or organic or whatever, it just needs to be real salt in the table sized grain.) Then, pour ACV on top of the salt until you have covered the salt. Exact proportions are not important, you just want to have the ACV a little over the top of the salt.

You can use this as a face or body scrub. The vinegar won't melt the salt (but water will.) Just dig the salt out with your fingers. It is EXTREMELY exfoliating. Be careful obviously of broken skin, with vinegar and salt both will burn (not that it would be BAD for it, but it will burn!) Keep out of your eyes.

Then you can either follow up with soap or just rinse it off. If you were going to do a full body scrub, I suggest getting in a shower and getting all wet, then turn the shower off to scrub (so the water isn't washing it away) then turn the water back on when you are done.

The weird thing about this is, even though you are pulling the salt out and leaving the vinegar, the salt kind of dries out so you have to add more vinegar before you have to add more salt. You can add more of either one as often as you wish to get it the consistency you like. Makes your skin feel baby-booty smooth.

baby booty smooth
you know I want that..LOL
thanks

I love threads that have natural items for everyday use and they HELP the body so much!

ALSO for sunburn. Sit in a tub of cool water with vinegar in it. Soothes the burn like crazy and makes you survive a bad sunburn. Tony has to do this every season at one point..LOL...driving the tractor in the sun and such he always gets a sunburn one time real bad. Vinegar in a tub is a wonderful relief!

I have always put vinegar on my sunburns. Usually gone the next day......As far as the wash goes, I (in my youth) have always had bad acne. My mother used to tell me "dont worry about it, you have oily skin. When you get old you will be glad for the oily skin".
I am afraid that wash would kill me. If anything other than water and a washcloth touches my face I breakout. My face breaks out and dries up. I get scaly patches on my skin. NOPE, nothing but water for me.
But I will try it on my body!

Ouch. My mom has really sensitive skin, too. Even if she puts rubbing alcohol on her arm, it burns her really bad. (It feels cool to me.)

Have you tried baking soda? You can also wash your face with a baking soda paste. It is much more gentle than salt, but it gets really deep down in the pores and cleans great.

Thats just it Cassandra, the washcloth and water works well for me, NOW.
I havent had acne for probably eight or nine years. People do not believe me when I tell them that I had bad acne, all they see is a spotless complexion. It is probably that my skin has started to dry out, and I have less hormones raging thru my body :). But if I need a really deep clean, I will try the bkg soda. Thanks.

Farmer chick,
That's great info. I have a terrible time with stiff, achy joints especially in the morning. I do a lot of stretching, but still have quite a bit of stiffness. I am definetly going to try it.
About the aloe vera juice...you bet it works!! Years ago (before the epidemic of nexium and prilosec prescriptions)my dad had such severe esophegeal erosion that his GI specialist was scoping him every 6 months to make sure it hadn't become cancerous. Dad finally asked the GI doc about aloe vera juice and the doc poo-poo'd the idea, but said it wouldn't hurt him. Dad started drinking a little every day and when he went back for his next scope he was 100% healed with absolutley no signs of even slight iritation, let alone erosion. The GI doc could not believe it and told him to keep drinking it and that he was going to recomend it to his other patients. I now see this same GI doc at the hospital where I work and take care of some of his patients. He obviously decided to put profit ahead of prevention as he his the 'king' of prescribing prilosec/nexium to these folks which doesn't cure the problem, but merely manages the condition guaranteeing him repeat business.
