Yep, since being 18. Have only missed a few primaries. Already voted for Tuesday's election....

You darn right I am registered to vote and already have. Husband too. I took my kids with me to vote when they were small and explained the process to them, they are grown up and they vote too.

Voting is one of the more better rights we have here in the USA.

Our presidential elections came and went quietly last week. Michael D. Higgins got re-elected. That's all. No big fanfare or big deals about it. I like that :) I'm not registered to vote here, I'm waiting until I become a citizen and that is still a year and a few months off.

I tried to avoid discussing politics on Facebook. I got involved in a rather cordial disagreement with someone, all was well until someone else piped in and attacked.
That is why we have the rule saying we discourage political discussions on Nifty's forums. There is almost always someone attacking and refusing to be civil about it. I don't mind discussions like that here (obviously!), because we're all mature and civil here and can even have a friendly argument without things getting nasty.

I ignore all the political and religious stuff some of my relatives like to post. I refuse to talk about that stuff on the phone as well. I have hung up on mom over it.

They keep calling the home phone. I found out that 17 seems to be all my answering machine can hold. We don't answer the home phone. Medical leaves messages since they are automated anyway. Wouldn't have a home phone but it's only a $5 difference since we need the line for the dsl.

Social media is not helping politics...….it is way too easy for fools to make even bigger fools of themselves.
