Coon was on the prowl last night. At 10:30, I caught her climbing over the fence to where the ducks and geese are. Dogs and I chased her away. She dumped the food bowl in the trap, but didn't trip it.
Couldn't get darn ducks to go inside the coop. Locked coop tight, but I could tell my young tom was nervous as it got dark. He knocked a chicken off the roost so he could sit by the window. Two lone chicks roosted in their old pen. (BTW all 5 chicks raised by my broody roosted on top roost of main coop last night for the first time. They grow so fast!

)
I was nervous for those ducks especially, so I went out after 11 pm and set up a flood light on the darkest area of their yard and hooked up a radio on top of the rain barrel to play all night. Geese played with the power cords, but both stayed on.
I love wildlife, but this one has crossed over the line from wild to nuisance. I don't need her (or him) to teach their young to mess with my poultry. Neighbor recommend fly bait in Pepsi if I can lock up my cats overnight. Aly and another friend both recommended leaving dead coons to decay along the property line.
So, I'm feeling a bit short on sleep today. Had to be up at 6 am and to the dentist by 8 am. Was so sleepy driving to town and fell asleep in the chair while waiting for them to be ready for me. :/
Picked about a cup more of tiny raspberries and mom found a pint of some local domestic ones in the store. Hope I can make up a batch of jam tonight.
Eggs are humming along. I haven't culled any yet, but I'm thinking 4 of the 8 peacock eggs won't produce.
