Bubblingbrooks Journey - Salut!

Here is my submission of baby feet, ... er foot

from a silver lynx kitten I fostered. ;)

Homestudy has been paid for, and we have now been asked to coordinate a date for the first visit.
:barnie :weee :barnie FYI, the little guy running around is not doing so with glee ;)
It has been a long winter, and even though I am getting better as time goes by, I still let much of the house go over the winter.
It never got real bad, I could have company over with just a few hours notice.
But still.
I know that it is possible that my cupboards and closets may be inspected. Or they may not! SO I need to tidy them as if they will be.
A few of the girls from church are coming over on the 29th to help me get the carpets and furniture shampooed in preparation for my in laws visit (asthma stuff), so I decided it might be nice to get that done before the home study starts as well.

I know not to have the house spotless, but I can stage some clutter as needed. Its the dust and such that I want gone asap.

And I seriously hope that the snow is almost gone before the visit too. Our winter driveway ( short as opposed to the long one we use in summer) is a total disaster due to setting up a goat barn in the middle of winter.
Can you say :sick ?
We have been collecting the wood needed to cover insulation in the barn, and there are 3 moldy round bales waiting to be moved into the potato and squash garden areas.
Add to that the layers of gunk that are in the snow/ice.

That must be so stressful BB! You know, it just gets me that there are wonderful parents who adopt children and are scrutinized so closely when any old Dick and Jane can pop out babies left and right and be horrible parents! Good luck with the home visit. I know you'll do fine!! :hugs

If this was not a private adoption, we would not even be going through with it, cause not only is there extreme scrutiny, but the cost of standard adoption ensures that most will never even attempt it.

Take a breath....breathe.....breathe......breathe......they are looking for safety and basic cleanliness, not operating theater sterile! A muddy driveway will not fail your homestudy....unless they drive up and the baby is out by herself crawling in it! They also want to see that you and your dh are on the same page with this and both equally committed to parenting.

Breathe!!!!!

Oh, I know all this, but, I also know very well what the "system" is like up here.
Its upsetting enough that CPS tried to convince us to turn her over to them so they could place her with us :sick Yeah right

Oh, and muddy driveway? :lau :gig Try my barn is literally right outside my kitchen door, due to that is how the buildings were placed by the previous owners.
It will be much better next winter, cause we will have all the wrinkles ironed out over the summer.

I'll be praying everything goes well for you. I have heard horror stories from some of my adopting friends about the ..... I don't even know the right term, but about the adoption people. One had a lady that was a dream for her, and then her friend got her and the lady has reported her to CPS for literally nothing. :/
