Just yesterday, my son was showing me pictures of these kinds of houses. He wants to experiment by rebuilding our shed in this way, and has already been looking for tires. His eventual goal is to have his own homestead, probably in Colorado. Then I come on here, and @LiviQueen had refreshed this article. Welcome to the group, @LiviQueen ! We're glad your here. We'll probably be making a small "earth ship" this fall.

I grew up in a small city back in the Texas-Mexico border by the Gulf of Mexico.

You went from one extreme to another! There are lots of good ideas here. I'll bet you can take some of them and 'adapt' them to Alaskan living. We'd love to hear how you get along there!
