I handled it all very well and I attribute it to the cone. I let go of the feet once and it made me really sad so I just held on.
You can also kill them when they are placed in the cone. Slitting the throat or by pithing. Like I said, we chose to cut the heads off then put them into the cone.
It is a necessary evil. We had the feet tied up and hung on the clothesline--so I just had to hold on to the wings.

At least when I kill a deer, It almost always drops and dies. But then again, if I shot the chicken he would probably drop and die too. Still kudos to you. If I absolutely had to I couldm I could do anything.
