CheerioLounge - Desert Dreamin'

If I were you since it looks so good is sell it and buy the supplies to build it with....IMHO

That would be great, but it really is not usable as a trailer anymore. I think it would probably fall apart before you could tow it out to the paved road! But it is certainly sturdy enough for my plans!

Sucky range dear ;) Nice trailer though :D I definately see the potential there!! Have you ever thought of sprouting grains for your girls since there is no range? It is really REALLY easy, and I can proove it. Proof = even I can do it :P So, I sprout lentils for mine sometimes and they go absolute ape poop!!! They lurve them! You should give it a try. I feel sorry for girls in the desert with no grass :( They'll sure have one fancy schmancy chicondo though :woot

How funny that you brought up sprouts! I was just reading about that very subject! They already go nuts for lentils and now I've learned that the sprouts have even more protein!

Oh, and get out of my head! :gig

It has been a very quiet Christmas day here in our corner of the desert. We called our families and chatted with them for a while. Not having a reliable vehicle makes seeing our families nearly impossible. Mine live in Flagstaff, AZ and "J"'s are in the LA/Long Beach area. Now that the addition is nearly complete, we are hoping to get some visitors! We just didn't have room to put anyone up overnight and we want them to come out for more than just the day!

The "Old Man" next door gave us a $40 gift card to WalMart and his DD gave us a $50 gift card to our local grocery store for being a good friend and neighbor to her dad. Both totally unexpected! :celebrate I think I'm gonna get a waffle iron with my half of the WalMart card. We gave his sister and each of his DDs an apron that "J" made and a pair of gardening gloves. The "Old Man" told us a few days ago not to get him anything, but that the next time we had pork for dinner he wanted an invite. His sister and and DD that live with him are SDA and will not cook or eat pork, so we always have him over when we have pork.

Our gift to each other this year was the bedroom addition. We spent the rest of the day watching some of our favorite holiday movies; Home Alone, Miracle on 34th St., Jingle All the Way(really silly movie, but it's fun!) and a few others. Right now we are watching The Last Samurai. Not exactly a holiday film, but it's one of our favorites! Dinner was Shoyu Chicken and Rice, Broccolli and my favorite yellow cake for desert.

I hope everyone had a peaceful and joyous Christmas day!

Sounds like Santa was very good to you! Im glad you had a Merry Christmas!!

Sounds like our Christmas day. Nice, quiet and no drama at all! My sweet and sour pork turned out great too! I am still amazed you all are homesteading in the desert. It seems like that would be quite difficult. My hat, so to speak, is off to you!!!! And here's to the New Year!!!!

agreed, not exactly the most welcoming environment sometimes but ill be the sunsets and sunrises are STUNNING! and i can only imagine the stars, and the veiw for any metior shower that passes by must be pristine!
