CheerioLounge - Desert Dreamin'

I have elderberries growing out back. :) By the fence :D

I'm requesting seed catalogs (a bit late, I know) and figuring out just exactly what I am going to try to grow. I have also drawn out the plan for the expansion of the chicken "complex". :P I've decided, after much deliberation, to continue to use the trailer as a storage space and possibly a brooder room for new chicks. It will be centrally located between the improved chicken complex and the proposed goat area. My first priority is the chickens right now, because that I can afford to do.

** just got kicked off the internet... Our connection is done by "tethering" through J's "smartphone" and if he gets a call, I get kicked off.

Actually, my first priority needs to be getting my van to pass smog, so I don't have to depend on anyone else to go shopping and to my many Dr appointments. It really sucks to have all these plans and no money (or wheels) to accomplish them. I get so down sometimes and it just saps my already limited energy. :th

Sorry Cheerio :hugs You'll get there some day soon! Just hang in there!

Planning is the easy part! We're never done with improvements!

Elderberries sound marvelous. I wonder if they would grow here? I can't think of any berries that grow here, except maybe mulberries, but I don't know that those are a true berry since they are on a tree and not a bush? I love the idea of having berries - I wish I had raspberries; my grandfather always had a long row of them and I remember sitting under the edge of the bushes and eating them hot from the sun. Good memories!

I managed to get a lift to the market! :ya I scraped together all the loose change and with the few bucks left in my account I was able to get margarine, sugar and yeast. Now I need to bake some bread and rolls to get us through 'til payday (3rd each month). In the winter especially, the end of the month is always tight and we really have to stretch the food. Doggone high electric bills! :barnie And these rising prices are killing me! I really need to get some meaties going to supplement.

Glad you got the things you need Cheerio!! Wow, tough times...been there :hugs
