CheerioLounge - Desert Dreamin'

Well I usually do, but I was actually attempting to mess it up a bit just to see if I could. I do that with recipes that say to cream such and such first, "then in another bowl"...which in my little head translates to "use too many dishes"

lol my brain also does the "but thats another bowl to wash" responce! lol

Sometimes my counter looks like I'm doing a baking presentation on the Martha Stewart show. Everything pre-measured in it's own little bowl. I think my brain just works better that way. I tend to forget to add ingredients if I don't pre-measure! :hu

My life would be wayyyyyyyy more chaotic without shortcuts :P I like shortcuts. When I'm new at something though, that's when I'm thorough, until I can figure out what I can get away with short cutting.

Well the rain is really coming down now! It's nice to have the rain, but I'm glad it only happens once or twice a year. The portion of the addition roof where the tar paper was torn off in the last wind storm has started to leak. At least we got some foam board insulation put up in there and it is directing the water to the edges of the room. :barnie It's forecast to rain all night so hopefully it won't be too heavy. On the bright side... The wildflowers should be lovely this Spring! :P

I have the recipe in front of me and the bowl. Set out all ingredients in their packages in order. Have dry 4 cup measure and wet 4 cup measure along with dry measuring spoons and wet spoons. Then just add all in order. I hate to have to wash and dry a cup to re use with a different ingredient! In a small space like I have, I have to stay organized, do dishes as I use them and put ingredients away as I add them.

It really depends on what I'm making. I'm a bit more anal if I've never made the recipe before. Once I've made it a couple times I'm more like you Snap. I don't have a lot of counter space, probably more than you, but I also am a "clean as you go" kind of guy. One of the many lessons I learned as a kid working at McDonald's. I credit McDonald's, and my folks of course, for instilling in me a good, strong work ethic.

Note to self: Get willful, lazy son a job at McDonald's. Hey, he's only 12, but he could pass for older if need be ;)

DH worked at McDonald's as a kid, and he definitely has a strong work ethic! DS#1 worked at two competitors at the same time- Wendy's in the am and Burger King at night. People can make fun of flipping burgers if they want, I think it's a fantastic place to learn to be a productive member of society!

Any job worth doing is worth doing well. I hate it when people look down on farm workers, garbage collectors, etc.
