Now I remember the photos from awhile back! I kinda like the dark color but I'm not living in the desert anymore either. I would think a light color would be cooler. My favorite color house in FL was near where I worked and was the color of a big storm sky--very dark and beautiful blue! Will you paint your chicken coop to match eventually?

I think so. Although J has been talking about changing the future garage/studio in to a "country store" where we can sell eggs, and the future goat products (milk, cheese, soap, etc.) and even chicks, kids, and piglets! So he wants to paint it pink with a black/white pig graphic on the side visible to the road. He wants pigs, I want goats. We'll see......

I don't really have a chicken coop, per se. I have two large wooden boxes on legs where the hens go to lay and occasionally roost. They generally roost out in the covered run, rain or shine, hot or cold, windy or still. They're pretty hardy chickens! But I digress...

What I would like to eventually have is two matching buildings painted to match the house. One for the birds and one for the goats with the garden in between. Something like this:

I'm so happy to give y'all a laugh! It makes me feel REAL good!

The "Old Man" gave us a 1/4 flat of strawberries this afternoon! So, it's strawberry quick bread for dessert and probably breakfast tomorrow! Yum!

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'd be making strawberry muffins I can't wait to get some berries for some more of those!!!
