CheerioLounge - Desert Dreamin'

I think I'm going to grab a couple different varieties this year. They did real well last year! They were the only plants I was able to save from last years debacle! Now the crazy lady up the road has them and my 2 beautiful strawberry pots. That's a whole 'nother story!

Do I smell a theif?! Want me to go get 'em back for ya Cheerio? I can be really mean and nasty when I need to be

No, they were given to her. She and her wealthy husband (he's wealthy, she married for the $) have a ranch and mustang rescue where J worked as the groundskeeper. She was out of Xanax one day and went psycho and fired everyone that worked for her about a month after we moved the strawberry pots over there. She hired back everyone but J. The ranch hands (20-22 yr old kids) were our friends and used to hang out here after work occasionally. Great kids. They would even help out around here if I needed them. Anyway, they were told they would be fired if they associated with J anymore. She would drive by after they left work to see if they were here. Ain't to many people I "strongly dislike", but she's one of them! :somad Not having that paycheck is one of the reasons it is taking so long to finish this house and really left us struggling for a while.

Sounds pretty rotten. Sure ya don't want me to go rough her up a bit? I'm in the mood  :P

There weren't as many strawberries as I thought. J told me it was a 1/4 flat, but it was only about 2 baskets full. So instead of quick bread or muffins, I cut them up and macerated them in some sugar for about 1 1/2 hrs then made a delicious chunky syrup and served it on pancakes! My gut is about to bust! And there's still some left for the morning to spread on hot buttered toast! :drool

I am lazy. I had cereal with the kids this morning :P
